The Alfa Laval SolidC UltraPure centrifugal pump stands apart from standard process pumps through its specialized design for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. Every media-contacting component—including the pump casing, impeller, impeller nut, and backplate—is manufactured from W. 1.4404 (AISI 316L) stainless steel with complete material traceability according to EN 10204 3.1 certification standards. High-Purity Pump Design Features

The semi-open impeller incorporates a special vane design with balance holes that serve multiple critical functions. This geometry enhances circulation around the shaft seal while simultaneously reducing axial forces during operation. The result is maximized cleanability alongside minimized wear on both the shaft seal and motor bearings, extending service life while maintaining hygienic performance. The pump's stainless steel shroud protects the motor from process area conditions, while four adjustable stainless steel legs provide stable support for the complete unit.

All product-wetted elastomers in the SolidC UltraPure comply with USP Class VI, 121°C Chapter 88, and Chapter 87 requirements. Each SolidC UltraPure pump comes with Alfa Laval's comprehensive Q-Doc package that complies with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). This includes full material traceability certificates (EN 10204 3.1) for all product-wetted steel components and USP Class VI certification for elastomers, supporting qualification, validation and process control requirements in pharmaceutical environments.

The pump features W. 1.4404 (AISI 316L) stainless steel construction for all media-contacting components with full material traceability, USP Class VI elastomers, and a semi-open impeller with special vane design that enhances cleanability. These design elements combine to reduce the risk of process contamination from extractables while ensuring product integrity.
