Hygienic fittings to BS 4825 cover imperial-sized stainless steel tubing and fittings for food, dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical process lines. The standard defines outside diameters, wall thicknesses, and end preparations for tubes, bends, tees, reducers, and clamp unions used in wetted service. Euroflow supplies the Alfa Laval range, drawing on the manufacturer's extensive experience in hygienic process equipment.
Wetted parts are supplied in 1.4404 stainless steel (316L). This grade is selected over 1.4435 for the balance of corrosion resistance, weldability, and cost in installation material. Internal surface finish is Ra < 0.8 µm as standard. This is verified with a calibrated profilometer. Fittings pass 100% visual inspection. Ovality and squareness are checked with calibrated equipment. Surface roughness meets the requirements set by EHEDG and 3-A. The finish exceeds the requirements of DIN 11852.
For the full standard breakdown, tolerance tables, and comparison with DIN and ISO ranges, see the BS 4825 guide.
