Alfa Laval Unique SSV Aseptic Single Seat Valve

Alfa Laval Unique SSV Aseptic Single Seat Valve

The Alfa Laval Unique SSV Aseptic is a high-performance aseptic single seat valve engineered for uninterrupted production in environments where sterility is non-negotiable. By utilizing a specialized one-piece diaphragm, this process equipment creates a hermetic seal that completely isolates the medium from atmospheric contaminants. This design provides protection against the effects of microorganisms, supporting critical biotechnology and pharmaceutical production. Built on the well-proven Unique SSV platform, this valve ensures professional protection for sensitive product batches while maintaining operational simplicity.

Get in touch

The Alfa Laval Unique SSV Aseptic is built on a modular architecture that enables process engineers to transition between shutoff and changeover functions with ease. The valve is available in one- or two-body configurations, utilizing standardized plugs, actuators, and clamp rings. For changeover applications, the valve can be configured with three to five ports, featuring a flexible valve seat positioned between the bodies. This modularity ensures that routing requirements can be met without departing from a unified component platform.

Reducing total cost of ownership through maintenance

A primary driver for a low total cost of ownership (TCO) is the reduction of moving parts and simplified service requirements. The Unique SSV Aseptic features a streamlined design with few moving parts, which naturally extends the time between service intervals and increases overall reliability. Maintenance is further optimized through defined seal compression, which protects elastomers from over-stressing and leads to an extended seal life. Components are held together by robust clamp rings, allowing for rapid disassembly and reduced labor requirements during routine inspections.

Hygienic design for sterile process valve safety

Safety in sterile applications is maximized through the use of a single contact surface between the plug and the seat. This specific construction minimizes the risk of contamination compared to traditional designs. The valve body is polished to a bright finish with smooth, crevice-free internal surfaces to support superior cleanability. Furthermore, the inclusion of static seal leak detection provides an early warning system to protect product integrity, ensuring that any potential seal failure is identified before the process is compromised.
