The Unique DV-ST UltraPure is engineered as a hygienic diaphragm valve for processes where contamination control and validation effort are critical. Three body manufacturing routes are offered—cast with Unique Optimized Flow geometry, forged, and machined from solid block—so the same platform covers standard 2-way duties and complex multi-port assemblies. Block bodies enable T-bodies, tank outlets, and Integral Access Valve (IAV) solutions, which collapse multiple valves into a single unit to minimize dead volumes and weld points.

Two-piece diaphragm design and elastomer choice

The diaphragm is the primary wear part. The Unique DV-ST UltraPure utilizes a 2-piece diaphragm design that reduces tension caused by thermal properties. Available diaphragm materials include EPDM, PTFE/EPDM, and M-PTFE/EPDM, covering standard cleaning media and aggressive chemistries. Spare-part identification is simplified via a diaphragm tab, ensuring maintenance teams select the correct replacement. Diaphragm connections are available in thread, bayonet, and button variants depending on the chosen actuator.

Sterilization, drainability and overclosure protection

The valve is autoclavable at 121°C for up to 60 minutes and supports steam sterilization up to 150°C for PTFE versions (up to 40 minutes). This performance supports the rigorous SIP regimes used across pharmaceutical and biotech lines. The Optimized Flow design minimizes dead volume and ensures complete drainability when installed correctly. Built-in overclosure protection prevents diaphragm damage even if actuators are pressurized beyond standard limits, while seat tightness is maintained according to ANSI Class VI. Leakage detection is integrated into the design.

Modular actuators and sensing integration

Topworks include a manual handle with stainless steel or PA handwheels, and pneumatic actuators in two stainless steel executions. The SS/HP High-Pressure version is suitable for the full pressure envelope, while the SS/SL Slim version handles standard duties. Both are available in Normally Closed, Normally Open, or Air/Air configurations. Both pneumatic versions are ATEX compliant and autoclavable. Control units such as ThinkTop, AS-Interface, and IO-Link provide clear visual status and digital integration for modern processing plants.

Documentation, validation and hybrid solutions

Every Unique DV-ST UltraPure valve ships standard with Q-doc documentation to meet high-purity application demands, covering material traceability and surface finish records. This supports compliance with cGMP regulations as specified in the technical data. Surface finishes include SF1 (Ra < 0.51 µm) and SF4 (Ra < 0.38 µm with electropolishing). Hybrid solutions with mixed dimension standards (ASME BPE, ISO 2037, DIN 11850, and ISO 1127) are available, facilitating the integration of equipment across different global pipe standards.
