Clip plate chevron pattern for hygienic applications

The Clip plate features a chevron plate pattern that balances heat transfer and flow-induced shear, making it suitable for sensitive food and beverage products. The entry points, distribution area and pressing depth are designed for optimal CIP coverage, ensuring efficient cleaning without excessive shear on delicate streams.

WideStream plates for viscous products and pulp-containing media

WideStream plates use a wider channel gap and fewer contact points to handle viscous products and streams containing pulp or fibres. This geometry reduces clogging and pressure drop compared with standard chevron plates and is offered on the smaller FrontLine frames suited to these product types.

Gemini double-wall plates to prevent fluid intermixing

Gemini plates are double-wall constructions that provide an intermediate inspectionable space between two pressed sheets. If a leak occurs in one sheet, the product drains into the visible leak chamber rather than crossing into the opposite fluid stream. Gemini plates are available where an extra precaution against cross-contamination is required.

Service-oriented frame design and maintenance features

FrontLine frames include five-point alignment and a corner-guided alignment system to ensure accurate plate positioning during reassembly. A T-bar roller design supports the lower guide bar on rollers for easier opening, and bearing boxes reduce the effort required to open large units. Keyhole bolt openings, fixed bolt heads with lock washers, pressure plate rollers and interchangeable corners speed service interventions and reduce the risk of component damage during maintenance.

The chocolate-pattern distribution area spreads incoming fluid evenly across the plate width to minimise dead zones and improve CIP effectiveness. Clip-on gaskets seat in a retention groove without adhesive, simplifying gasket replacement and removing a potential contamination source. Frame and pressure plates are offered in solid stainless steel, cladded stainless steel or surface-coated variants to suit different hygienic and environmental needs.

Materials, connections and compliance

Standard single plates are 316/316L stainless steel; Front 8 and Front 10 plates may also be supplied in 254 Alloy C276 where specified. Gemini plates use Alloy 316, and WideStream plates are available in Alloy 316 or Ti. Field and ring gaskets are available in NBR and EPDM and are produced in compliance with FDA regulations. Connections conform to DIN, SMS, Tri-CLAMP, BS/RJT and IDF/ISO male parts to integrate with common hygienic piping standards.

The plate heat exchanger can be manufactured according to 3A certification, and pressure vessel compliance follows applicable codes (PED and, where listed, pvcALS).
